NextImg:Trump campaign denounces boaters with Trump flags and swastikas

The Trump campaign decried the boat that tried to join a pro-Trump boat parade in Florida with Trump flags and others with swastika symbols, saying the messaging “goes against everything” he stands for.

“Social media posts show that genuine Trump supporters identified these idiots trying to create fake news and responded accordingly,” Karoline Leavitt, Trump Campaign national press secretary, told The Washington Times.

Videos and pictures posted online showed the boat with five people aboard trying to join the boat parade in Jupiter, Florida Sunday. The parade took place in the same Florida county as Mr. Trump’s estate, Mar-a-Lago.

Other videos showed Trump supporters in different boats using their engines to splash the boat that had the swastika flags. Those aboard the unwanted boat were reportedly shouting “Heil Trump,” and “Make America White Again,” among other statements.

Carlos Gavidia, the organizer of the parade, posted on his Facebook page that “the left tried to send in some agitators to create a false narrative.”

He said that after “patriots” participating in the parade sprayed them using their engines, police detained them so they couldn’t participate.

The Washington Times has reached out to Palm Beach Police Department to verify whether the boaters were detained.

Ms. Leavitt said, “President Trump is steadfast in the fight against bigotry, he has been a leader against antisemitism at home and abroad, and abhors the hatred implied in these images.”

“As president, he worked to expand the protections of the Civil Rights Act to include Americans threatened by antisemitism. This dangerous rhetoric is unacceptable and totally goes against everything President Trump stands for as he works to restore our nation’s greatness,” she said.

StopAntisemitism, an advocacy group, wrote on X that one person on the boat was Jon Minadeo II, who heads the Goyim Defense League, which the Anti-Defamation League has labeled as “ a loose network of individuals connected by their virulent antisemitism.”

The Washington Times did not independently verify if the one of the men on the boat was Mr. Minadeo.
