NextImg:Trump campaign blasts Fox News for ‘atrocious’ polling of Harris leading in swing states

Former President Donald Trump’s campaign excoriated Fox News for a new poll that shows Vice President Kamala Harris ahead in a handful of swing states.

Mr. Trump’s campaign ripping the conservative network for unfavorable polling is not new. In June, the former president blasted Fox for a “trash” poll that showed President Biden pulling ahead of him.

This time around, Mr. Trump’s campaign took aim at a poll released Wednesday that showed Ms. Harris ahead in Sun Belt states where Mr. Biden trailed.

“It’s that time of year again,” the campaign said in a statement Wednesday. “Fox is releasing atrocious polling.”

Fox News’ poll showed that Ms. Harris had a 1-point lead in Arizona and a 2-point edge in Georgia and Nevada, while Mr. Trump held onto a 1-point lead in North Carolina.

His campaign argued that he continued to “outperform polling from past cycles.”

“President Trump is 10 points ahead of where he was in Arizona at this point in 2020, according to Fox,” the campaign said. “Likewise, he is running 8 points ahead of his 2020 polling in Nevada and 5 points ahead of his 2020 polling in North Carolina.”

The campaign said that during the 2020 election cycle, Fox News was off by up to nearly 10% in polls of North Carolina, Nevada and Arizona and that the network’s lone Georgia poll “overstated” Mr. Biden’s support in the state by nearly 2%.

The latest poll, which was conducted from Aug. 23-26 with 4,053 voters across the four battleground states, found that while voters believed Mr. Trump would be the best to handle the economy, which was their top issue, Ms. Harris was the one best suited to unite the country.

It also found that more voters held a favorable view of Ms. Harris, 49%, than Mr. Trump, 47%.
