British authorities have arrested suspects accused of vandalizing the Trump Turnberry golf course in Scotland, the president confirmed on Sunday. Mr. Trump called the suspects “terrorists” as he confirmed the news.
The vandalism, which was discovered earlier this month, featured pro-Palestine messages spray-painted on the property. “Gaza is not 4 sale” and “Free Palestine” were among the messages after the president publicly suggested relocating residents to build a resort in the war-torn area.
“I was just informed by Prime Minister Starmer of the United Kingdom, that they caught the terrorists who attacked the beautiful Turnberry, in Scotland,” Mr. Trump wrote on Truth Social. “They did serious damage, and will hopefully be treated harshly. The three people who did this are in prison. You cannot let things like this attack happen.”
The BBC later disputed the president’s account. Three people were arrested, but British media reported that two suspects were later released pending further investigation.
The Palestine Action activist group claimed responsibility for the vandalism.
“Whilst Trump attempts to treat Gaza as his property, he should know his own property is within reach,” the group wrote on X.
