NextImg:Trump calls court halting Biden administration’s sale of border wall materials a ‘win’

President-elect Donald Trump celebrated a “win for America” after a federal judge stopped the Biden administration from selling border wall materials before he takes office.

“In a major, crucial WIN for America, and our National Security, a Federal Judge in Texas, based on papers we filed just a few days ago, has PROHIBITED the Biden Administration from selling any materials designated for the Border Wall, that has been wrecked by Biden and his cronies, and which I am going to rebuild in order to protect our Country from violent migrant crime, fentanyl smuggling, sex trafficking, terror attacks, and other heinous, Nation ending disasters,” Mr. Trump posted Saturday on Truth Social.

“The Judge has also ordered an investigation into the illegal selling of the materials, which will expose just how corrupt and anti-American Radical Democrats are,” he posted.

The decision to stop the selling of the materials came Friday from Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton’s office.

Mr. Paxton’s office said he requested the hearing to “uncover potential legal violations committed by the Biden Administration after recent reports that segments of the border wall were auctioned off for pennies on the dollar.”

“The Biden Administration confirmed to the court today that it will agree to an order preventing the outgoing administration from disposing of any further border wall materials over the next 30 days — allowing President Trump to use those materials as he sees fit,” a Paxton news release said Friday. “This will be adopted as an order of the court, making it enforceable if any violations occur.”

One of Mr. Trump’s main priorities is the building of the border wall and deporting illegal immigrants in America.

“This follows our major victory forcing Biden to build the wall, and we will hold his Administration accountable for illegally subverting our Nation’s border security until their very last day in power, especially where their actions are clearly motivated by a desire to thwart President-elect Trump’s immigration agenda,” Mr. Paxton said in a statement.

Mr. Trump has already announced who will be in charge of the border during his administration, with key appointments including South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem, whom he picked to run the Department of Homeland Security, and Tom Homan, who will serve as his “border czar” to carry out the mass deportation plan.

His pick for deputy chief of staff for policy, Stephen Miller, is also an immigration hardliner.

The Biden administration told a federal judge Friday that it’s done with selling materials and won’t get rid of anything else ahead of Mr. Trump taking office.

A U.S. District judge said he would sign an order making the promise official.
