Former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley leaned into an attack from fellow GOP candidate Vivek Ramaswamy after he compared her to former Vice President Richard B. Cheney.
Mr. Ramaswamy called Ms. Haley “Dick Cheney in three-inch heels” as he answered a question about what he would tell Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu regarding Israel’s war with Hamas.
Ms. Haley responded by saying with a fact correction: “They’re five-inch heels.”
“The second thing that I will say is this,” she added, “I wear heels — they’re not for a fashion statement. They’re for ammunition.”
“We’ve got two of them onstage tonight,” he said as an apparent shot towards Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.
Mr. DeSantis’s choice of boots have been called into question lately as potentially having height-increasers in them.
He has denied the accusations.
