D.C. police said a man and a teenage boy were killed in separate Southeast shootings over the weekend.
Metropolitan Police said the man, who wasn’t identified, was shot and killed near the Congress Heights Metro Station around 3:40 p.m. Saturday.
Authorities said they are searching for a silver Toyota Corolla in connection to the shooting in the 1200 block of Alabama Avenue Southeast.
On Friday, Assistant Chief Lashay Makal said a 16-year-old boy was gunned down in a shooting in the Garfield Heights neighborhood.
The chief said officers were canvassing the 2700 block of Langston Place Southeast following reports of gunshots when a wounded man approached police.
Chief Makal said officers were tending to the man’s gunshot injury before shots rang out again a block away.
The officers ran toward the sound of gunfire and found Darren Johnson, of Southeast, suffering from gunshot wounds, police said.
“Both victims were transported to the hospital, where, despite life-saving efforts, the juvenile has been pronounced,” Chief Makal said.
Authorities are looking for a Black male who was last seen wearing all-black clothing with white writing on it.
