A 17-year-old is in custody following a shooting on Saturday in New York City’s Times Square that left three others injured by gunshots.

The incident took place at around 1:20 a.m., police told multiple media sources.

The shooting started when the accused gunman, unnamed by police, got in an argument with a 19-year-old man riding a rented bike and opened fire, hitting him in the foot, police sources told the New York Post.

The shots also hit a 65-year-old man in one of his legs and grazed the neck of an 18-year-old woman, a New York City Police Department spokesperson said, according to The New York Times.

All three victims were hospitalized and will likely survive. Authorities have not named any of the people involved in the incident.

Police took the 17-year-old suspect into custody, though charges haven’t been filed, according to the NYT.

It’s unclear whether the 17-year-old knew any of the victims prior to the alleged shooting, police told New York’s WCBS-TV.

The 18-year-old woman was a passenger in an Uber with her family at the time of the incident, while the 65-year-old was standing on the street.

“We were traumatized. If anyone told me to come to Times Square for even $1 million, I wouldn’t do it,” the young woman’s father, who did not provide his name, told the Post.
