Taylor Swift fans in Warsaw for her concert were urged not to worry about sirens echoing in the Polish capital on Thursday as part of a World War II commemoration.

The pop superstar’s concert coincides with the 80th anniversary of the start of the 1944 Warsaw Uprising by Polish Home Army resistance forces against the occupying army of Nazi Germany.

A fan account on X dedicated to chronicling Ms. Swift’s ongoing Eras Tour wrote “To the people who are coming to the concert on August 1st don’t panic if you heard sirens alarm.”

The sirens went off at around 5 p.m. local time, timed to match the beginning of the uprising in 1944.

Onet.pl, a Polish web portal and news website, also offered its own explanation to Ms. Swift’s fans, telling them not to worry about residents setting off flares, warning them to head the the concert venue ahead of time due to possible traffic restrictions, and asking them to observe a moment of silence as part of the commemoration for the uprising.

Ms. Swift’s concert Thursday was the first of three she is holding in Warsaw, along with shows Friday and Saturday. After that, the Eras Tour will pick back up on Aug. 8 in Vienna, Austria.
