Three lawmakers vying for the top position of power in the House will make the case for why they should win the gavel next week. 

House Majority Leader Steve Scalise, Louisiana Republican, and Rep. Jim Jordan, Ohio Republican, have publicly announced their bids for the speakership. Rep. Kevin Hern, Oklahoma Republican, has promised to speak with every member of the GOP conference before deciding whether to run. 

All three are slated to be interviewed by Fox News’ Bret Baier on Monday night.

This follows the historic ousting of Rep. Kevin McCarthy this week. Speaker Pro Tem Patrick McHenry of North Carolina has scheduled a candidate forum for the Republican conference Tuesday, with an election expected Wednesday.
