SpaceX said it expects to launch European communication satellites on a Falcon 9 rocket on Tuesday, one day after a last-minute cancellation.
SpaceX canceled the launch of the SES O3b mPOWER satellites on Monday evening at the Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida. The company has not said why it canceled the launch.
“Standing down from today’s launch of the @SES_Satellites O3b mPOWER mission and now targeting tomorrow, July 22 for liftoff. Vehicle and payload remain healthy,” SpaceX posted Monday evening on X.
The satellites are expected to join SES’ constellation in medium Earth orbit. The constellation will eventually comprise 13 satellites.
This week’s delay occurred one month after SpaceX’s Starship rocket exploded on its platform during a training exercise.
