


Prince George’s County police said three men were killed and another was injured in three separate shootings that erupted during the festivities on New Year’s Eve and early New Year’s Day.
Authorities said the first shooting took place in Capitol Heights at about 10:40 p.m. Sunday.
Officers arrived at the 1400 block of Dunbar Oaks Drive to find a man suffering from gunshot wounds. Police said he was taken to the hospital, where he later died.
The next shooting occurred in Fort Washington at about 3:50 a.m. Monday.
Responding officers found a man with gunshot wounds in the 7500 block of Blanford Drive. He was taken to the hospital in stable condition.
Police said another man who was shot near the scene self-transported to the hospital, where he died from his injuries.
At about 4:30 a.m., authorities said a man was mortally wounded by gunfire in Temple Hills.
The victim was taken from the 2900 block of Brinkley Road to a nearby hospital but ultimately died from his injuries.
