NextImg:Seven wounded in 5 weekend shootings across D.C.

D.C. police said seven people were wounded in five separate shootings throughout the city this weekend, including a triple shooting steps away from Howard University’s campus.

Metropolitan Police said the triple shooting erupted around 2 a.m. Sunday in the 2200 block of 8th Street Northwest.

Authorities said officers who responded to the scene found two women and a man suffering from bullet wounds.

All three were taken to a hospital and are expected to survive.

Police offered no description of a suspect or person of interest in the incident.

Over less than three hours spanning late Friday and early Saturday, three men were injured in different shootings around the District.

Police said one was wounded by gunfire around 1:30 a.m. Saturday in the 3800 block of 14th Street Northwest.

The man was conscious and breathing when officers responded to the call, police said, and he was taken to a hospital for treatment.

Authorities said they are looking for a red or black vehicle in connection to the shooting.

Just before midnight in Northeast, police said a man was shot near the 2900 block of Nash Place.

He was awake and breathing when officers arrived at the scene and was taken to a hospital.

MPD said a man shot in the 3000 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue Southeast less than an hour earlier is also expected to survive.

Police said they are looking for a Black man wearing all-black clothing in connection to the shooting.

Around 6:15 p.m. on Friday, authorities said a man was shot in the 3900 block of Minnesota Avenue Northeast.

Police said the man suffered nonfatal gunshot wounds and was taken to a hospital for treatment.

MPD released surveillance footage that shows a shooter with a dark complexion who was last seen wearing a black jacket, olive green hoodie, blue jeans and gray and blue sneakers.
