NextImg:School bus with 23 students aboard, car ignite after crash in Prince George’s County; no injuries

A school bus with 23 students on board caught fire after being rear-ended by a car Tuesday morning on the Capital Beltway in Maryland, but no one was injured, fire authorities said.

The crash occurred just before 10 a.m. on the outer loop of U.S. Interstate 495 in Prince George’s County. There was fire damage to both vehicles, but no one was injured in the incident, the Prince George’s County Fire/EMS Department posted on X.

A photo included with the post shows a gray sedan wedged into the back of the bus, with the bus bumper coming partially off.

Following their evacuation, the students were all safely taken to school, the Prince George’s County Police Department posted on X. 

The students were from Walker Mill Middle School in Capitol Heights, Maryland, according to WUSA-TV.
