A Gaithersburg, Maryland, Sam’s Club membership-only warehouse closed Friday after a raccoon got into the store’s bakery section.
The Gaithersburg Police Department was called to the store at around 6:40 a.m. Friday to help deal with the pest, but attempts to find and capture it were unsuccessful. Police ended up telling Sam’s Club staff the best way to try and wrangle it themselves, a police spokesperson told ABC affiliate WJLA-TV.
Customers and employees were then told to leave, and the store ended up getting help from a “third-party pest management service,” company officials said according to NBC affiliate WRC-TV.
The store is expected to reopen Saturday, where doors are scheduled to open at 9 a.m., a Sam’s Club spokesperson told the MoCo Show blog.
