Rep. Ronny Jackson said his nephew was shot Saturday in the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump.

Mr. Jackson, who served as Mr. Trump’s physician in the White House, said he helped orchestrate getting his nephew a spot in the friends and family section at the rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.

“They heard the shots and everybody dropped to the ground and … he was grazed in the neck, a bullet crossed his neck and he was bleeding,” the Texas Republican said on Fox News. “This is my nephew. They were there. I set them up. They went to the rally.”

“Apparently, there was someone also four or five rows behind them who was critically injured,” he said.

Mr. Trump said a bullet pierced his upper right ear.

The horrific scene played out shortly after Mr. Trump started addressing the crowd that turned out for his last rally before the Republican National Convention next week in Milwaukee.

After the shots rang out, Mr. Trump ducked below the podium and was quickly encircled by Secret Service agents.

After he was pulled back to his feet, Mr. Trump pumped his fist to the crowd and shouted “Fight!” multiple times.
