Former Commanders owner Dan Snyder donated his massive estate in Potomac, Maryland, to the American Cancer Society in 2023 after struggling to find a buyer. Now, the charity has dropped the price to $24.9 million after two years on the market.
The American Cancer Society listed the 25,000-square-foot property for sale for $49 million in February 2023. The asking price has dwindled, with the most recent dip lowering the request by $5 million.
The property sits on 15 acres with a design inspired by French chateaus. Mr. Snyder purchased the land in 2000 and built the home in 2004.
If sold for the current asking price, the estate would be the priciest home in Potomac’s history, according to multiple reports. The previous record belongs to the $20 million property purchased by Ted Leonsis, the owner of the Wizards and Capitals, in 2011.
Mr. Snyder and his wife, Tanya, vacated the D.C. region after selling the Commanders to Josh Harris for $6.05 billion in 2023. The couple has listed England as their home in recent filings.
