


A single-engine turbo propeller plane carrying five passengers crashed in a remote area of Lorida, Florida, Friday, injuring the pilot and two passengers.
Highlands County Fire Rescue transported the two injured passengers by ambulance to local hospitals, while the pilot was driven to another location before being airlifted to a regional trauma center. Fire officials didn’t name any of the injured.
The pilot suffered a cut to the head of unspecified severity, county officials told St. Petersburg CBS affiliate WTSP.
All six people aboard the plane were alert at the time of the rescue.
The plane took off from Tavernier, Florida, at 4:14 p.m. on its way to Sebring Regional Airport, according to flight tracking website FlightAware. The plane crashed at 5:13 p.m.
The crash is being investigated by the Federal Aviation Administration.
