An 81-year-old man was arrested in Azusa, California, for using his slingshot to shoot out windows and windshields in his neighborhood for 10 years.
Prince King was arrested Thursday by the Azusa Police Department, which claimed it found a slingshot and ball bearings in his residence.
Dozens of other nearby residents were affected, police said, and some narrowly avoided being hit by ball bearings.
A probe into the window breaking began with the first incident.
“It’s been ongoing for many years because we just didn’t identify who the suspect was,” APD Lt. Jake Bushey told the San Gabriel Valley Tribune.
Police don’t know why targets were chosen to have their windows or windshields shot out.
“We’re not aware of any kind of motive other than just malicious mischief,” Lt. Bushey said.
Mr. King has been charged with an unspecified felony, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department inmate information database. He is next due in court Tuesday.
