Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu heaped praise on President Trump at a press conference Tuesday, saying he’s done more for the Jewish state than any other U.S. president in history.
“You are the greatest friend Israel ever had in the White House,” Mr. Netanyahu said. “That’s why the people have such enormous respect for you.”
Speaking at the White House, Mr. Netanyahu ticked off a list of pro-Israel accomplishments by Mr. Trump. The list included recognizing Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and moving the American embassy there in his first term; negotiating the Abraham Accords, combating antisemitism, and recognizing Israel’s sovereignty over the Golan Heights.
He said his U.S. counterpart would have been able to formalize relations between Saudi Arabia and Israel had he had more time in his first term.
“It’s not only beautiful, I think it’s going to happen,” Mr. Netanyahu said.
