MyPillow Inc., founded and owned by Mike Lindell, has been ordered by a Minnesota judge to pay over $770,000 to shipping company DHL.
DHL filed suit against MyPillow in September over what it said was a breach of contract. Under the initial deal, MyPillow was to pay DHL for delivery services within 15 days of billing. In May 2023, the two parties made a deal in which MyPillow would pay DHL $775,000 in installments starting in April 2024.
MyPillow, however, only paid $64,583.34 of the $775,000, which led to the lawsuit. At the time, Mr. Lindell told The Associated Press that MyPillow had stopped using DHL over a year before the suit was filed and he said the shipping dispute was DHL’s fault.
In October, MyPillow agreed to pay DHL $550,000 by the end of that month, with a stipulation that if they did not, MyPillow would owe $723,989.41 plus 18% interest, $382 in court fees and the cost of an attorney, according to court documents.
Since MyPillow did not pay the $550,000, Hennepin County Judge Susan Burke determined that MyPillow owed DHL the $723,989,41, $4,812.50 in attorney fees, $382 in court fees, $342 in other legal fees, and $48,203.82 in interest accrued between Aug. 6 and Dec. 19, 2024.
The amount of interest owed has increased since Judge Burke’s initial order. As of Dec. 30, MyPillow owed DHL $779,707.84.
