A mom in Sandwich, Massachusetts, found two sewing needles in two pieces of her son’s Halloween candy, prompting a police investigation.
The mother, unnamed by authorities, called the Sandwich Police Department to her house on Wednesday to report finding a small sewing needle in a small Snickers bar her 8-year-old son had received.
A small Twix bar also contained a needle, the police said in a Facebook post, and at least one of the wrappers also had a puncture hole from where the needle was inserted into the candy.
The police are continuing to investigate and urged other Sandwich families that went trick-or-treating in the Cape Cod town’s downtown area to check their candy as well.
Police said they haven’t received any other reports of Sandwich residents finding needles or other foreign objects in their Halloween candy.
