A trio of people attempting to sail from Boston to Florida ran aground in Plymouth, Massachusetts, on Wednesday morning and had to be rescued by local firefighters.
The boat ran aground at around 7:30 a.m., with the vessel ending up lodged 75 to 100 feet offshore, the Plymouth Fire Department said in a release. Fire officials believe the sailboat was about 40 feet long.
The boat with two men and a woman aboard had left Boston Tuesday in the hopes of sailing down to Florida.
Although the three were uninjured when rescued by the fire department, they were nevertheless taken to local hospitals to check whether or not they had suffered from exposure to the elements.
The fire department did not name any of the three people rescued. Their ages range from 60 to 70, according to WBZ-TV.
