Prince George’s County police are looking for a driver who struck and killed a Maryland man over the weekend — and then drove two miles with the victim lodged in the windshield.

Authorities said Franklin Membreno Mendez, 28, of New Carrollton, was involved in a separate, minor crash on Saturday near the 8900 block of Annapolis Road.

As Mr. Mendez was examining the damage to his vehicle, police said he was struck by another driver passing by the crash site.

Police said the suspect drove off with Mr. Mendez’s body hanging from their windshield. The driver then left the victim two miles away on Ardwick Ardmore Road.

Officers found Mr. Mendez around 4 a.m. Saturday after police said they were called to do a welfare check on the victim.

Authorities said the suspect vehicle is a 2011-2017 gray Honda Civic with a large, white decal across the top of the back window.

The vehicle should have damage to the passenger side front bumper and fender, and a hole in the windshield.
