Police in Southern California said they arrested a man Tuesday and charged him with blowing up a teddy bear in a commercial parking lot.
The San Bernardino police said they arrested the male suspect, who wasn’t named, on “several felonies” for the detonation that happened in daylight outside multiple businesses.
Surveillance footage released by police appears to show the man stepping out of his car and placing the toy in an open parking spot.
The man then gets back in his car, and the stuffed animal starts smoking.
A high-pitched whistle is heard coming from the teddy bear, followed by an explosion, which startles a woman entering her car nearby.
Authorities said they obtained a search warrant for the suspect’s home and recovered a handmade ghost gun, over 200 rounds of ammunition, more than a kilo of methamphetamine with packaging to sell it and illegal fireworks.
