A man has been arrested after two women were shot Friday during the Super Bowl parade for the Philadelphia Eagles.

The incident occurred near portable toilets along the Ben Franklin Parkway in the center of Philadelphia outside the designated area of the celebration. At around 2:36 p.m., one of the women and her boyfriend attempted to cut the line for the porta-potties.

The boyfriend was then punched and a fight ensued, and during the fight both women were struck by gunfire, the first woman, 27, in the right calf and another unrelated 20-year-old woman in her upper left thigh, Philadelphia Police Department Deputy Commissioner Frank Vanore told WTXF-TV reporter Steve Keeley.

The parade had already passed by the area of the shooting about an hour prior to the incident according to WPVI-TV.

Both victims were taken to the hospital in stable condition. Though police could not determine an exact scene for the crime, the weapon used was recovered.

Brandon Ramos, 28, has been arrested and charged with possessing the instrument of a crime, aggravated assault, simple assault and the reckless endangerment of another person according to KYW-TV.
