After students walking to school in Babylon, New York, found a man’s arm in a park Thursday, the Suffolk County Police Department found two more limbs.

The students first noticed the dismembered arm on the eastern side of Southards Pond Park. Soon a father was called, saw the limb and contacted police.

After responding, the police’s cadaver dogs found a leg on the western side of the park and a second arm on the eastern side, SCPD Lt. Kevin Beyrer said at a Thursday press conference.

That night, the dogs found a second set of remains.

“Last night, we discovered a female head, a leg and what appears to be a female arm,” Lt. Beyrer said at a second press conference Friday.

“It appears to be a small amount of days, if not hours, the [remains] were out here,” he said.

Neither of the victims, both adults, has been identified. Autopsies are being conducted on the severed limbs and head to see if they came from one woman and one man or from multiple victims. The male arms had tattoos, which are being checked against a database.

The park is closed to the public during the investigation.
