Mr. Rubio was nominated by President-elect Donald Trump for secretary of state; his Senate seat would be vacated if he is confirmed.
“It is something I would seriously consider,” Ms. Trump told The Associated Press. “If I’m being completely transparent, I don’t know exactly what that would look like. And I certainly want to get all of the information possible if that is something that’s real for me. But yeah, I would 100% consider it.”
Ms. Trump was elected RNC co-chair in March along with Michael Whatley. Mr. Trump, her father-in-law, praised the work she and Mr. Whatley have done and threw support behind Mr. Whatley staying on for another term in an X post last week.
Ms. Trump told the outlet that she is proud of what she had done as co-chair.
“With that big win, I kind of feel like my time is up,” she said. “What I intended to do has been done.”
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, a Republican, will choose who would replace Mr. Rubio until the end of his term in 2026.
