The Los Angeles Police Department is looking for a man they say stabbed a woman from behind before fleeing to an L.A. County Metropolitan Transportation Authority rail station.
Security footage posted on YouTube Wednesday shows the unnamed victim walking with two other people, and the suspect coming up behind them at noon Jan. 18.
The suspect, who took out his knife when approaching the group of three, stabbed the woman near her neck before running away.
The victim was taken to a local hospital and successfully treated for her non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect, LAPD said in a release, fled to the Vermont/Santa Monica MTA station.
Police described him as a 30-year-old Hispanic man with black hair and brown eyes, weighing 180 pounds and standing 5 feet 6 inches.
Police didn’t say whether the suspect was known to the victim.
