Former Vice President Kamala Harris has signed on with Creative Artists Agency, which counts major Hollywood A-listers among its client roster.
In a statement, the talent agency said it will represent Ms. Harris “in all areas, focusing on speaking engagements and publishing.”
“CAA will work closely with Harris on her post-White House initiatives, creating strategic platforms that expand her platform in support of the issues she has championed throughout her decades-long career in public service,” the agency said in a statement issued late Tuesday night.
The talent agency bills a way to create “limitless opportunities” for “storytellers, trendsetters, icons and thought leaders who shape popular culture.”
Ms. Harris had been repped by CAA when she was a U.S. senator representing California before she became vice president.
President Biden is also represented by CAA. The agency issued an announcement earlier this month that it had signed a deal with Mr. Biden to promote and negotiate a contract for his upcoming book. CAA also represents former President Obama and former first lady Michelle Obama.
Some of the major Hollywood celebrities represented by CAA include Nicole Kidman, George Clooney, Meryl Streep, Brad Pitt, Tom Hanks and Margo Robbie.
While Ms. Harris has been largely coy about her plans since losing the election to President Trump, she has been floated as a possible Democratic candidate for governor of California. She would be the front-runner if she entered the race, according to a poll released last week by Emerson College Polling/Inside California Politics/The Hill.
However, she has dismissed questions about her political future. When asked about her plans earlier this month, she responded, “I have been home for two weeks and three days.
“My plans are to be in touch with my community, to be in touch with the leaders and figure out what I can do to support them,” she said after visiting areas devastated by California’s wildfires.
