Sam Neill took to Instagram to assure fans that his cancer is in remission and that they can expect more work from him.

On Monday, the Australian television program Australian Story broadcast a story about the actor’s illness. In the program, Mr. Neill explained that his chemotherapy failed and he is now on an experimental drug to combat his angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma.

The next day, the “Jurassic Park” and “Peaky Blinders” star reassured his fans that the comments were taken out of context.

“At such a time the drug does fail, we’ll try something else. There’s all sorts of things that are happening with cancer treatments these days. It’s a whole new ball game,” Mr. Neill said. “Please stop worrying. I’ve
been getting a lot of messages on social media and from friends. I’m sorry to worry everybody.”

Mr. Neill revealed that he learned he had cancer last year on a trip to New Zealand. After the initial rounds of chemotherapy failed to produce results, Mr. Neill started taking experimental medication.

His doctor did tell him that the drugs will eventually stop working, but Mr. Neill is not worried.

”I’m not in any way frightened of dying,” he said. “That doesn’t worry me. It’s never worried me from the beginning, but I would be annoyed.”
