A federal judge issued a restraining order Tuesday blocking the Trump administration from punishing New York for its congestion pricing plan that charged additional fees for vehicles entering parts of Manhattan.
Judge Lewis Liman, a Trump appointee to the court in New York, issued a two-week blockade.
He ordered the Trump administration not to follow through on its vow to start withholding federal money Wednesday from the city or the state unless they cancel the congestion plans.
New York charges up to $9 for vehicles to enter the congestion area. The goal is to reduce vehicle crowding and raise money.
