U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement revealed the numbers in an “Enforcement update” posted to X.com.

The report comes as local officials have begun to complain about ICE’s actions in their jurisdictions.

Newark’s mayor, for example, said ICE “raided” a business on Thursday, arresting three workers who couldn’t provide documentation that they were authorized.

Mayor Ras Baraka said one of the people detained in the action was a military veteran “who suffered the indignity of having the legitimacy of his military documentation questioned.”

The mayor said ICE entered the business without a warrant.

“Newark will not stand by idly while people are being unlawfully terrorized,” the mayor said.

President Trump has promised mass deportations of illegal immigrants. He said he would prioritize those with criminal records.
