Hyundai and Kia cars will soon share Tesla’s charging ports.
The South Korean carmakers announced Thursday that Kia, Hyundai and Genesis electric vehicles will use the ports starting in 2024. The change will make it much easier for EV drivers to charge their cars while on the go.
Hyundai Motor Group, which also owns Kia though they operate separate businesses in the U.S., makes eight different EVs. It’s the second most popular EV brand in America after Tesla.
Hyundai Motor Group joins Ford, General Motors, Honda, Nissan and Mercedes-Benz in agreeing to change over to Tesla’s North American Charging Standard.
