A hot air balloon had an awkward landing Thursday morning, getting caught on a light pole as it descended outside a Phoenix backyard.

There were nine people aboard the balloon, including the pilot. Just before 9 a.m. local time, the balloon was low on fuel and trying to land in a nearby open field when the wind shifted, resulting in the snag and rip.

The balloon then stayed caught on the damaged light pole and finished coming down to earth, with part of it coming to rest draped over a fence into the backyard.

No injuries were reported due to the landing, the Phoenix Fire Department told KNXV-TV.

“Everyone had fun, and everyone stayed safe,” pilot Michael England with Hot Air Expeditions told KPHO-TV.

Afterwards, the local Salt River Project power utility was called to de-energize the pole. The Federal Aviation Administration was also notified of the incident, fire officials told KNXV-TV.
