Vice President Kamala Harris is making a hastily scheduled trip to Wilmington, Delaware, on Monday to say “hello” to the campaign staff in the wake of President Biden’s decision to bow out of the presidential race.

The White House did not provide much information about the trip, beyond it was an opportunity to greet staff of the newly reorganized Harris for President campaign.

“It’s the first full day of our campaign, so I’m heading up to Wilmington, De to say ‘hello’ to our staff in  HQ,” Ms. Harris wrote on X. “One day down. 105 to go. Together we’re going to win this.”

Wilmington was the headquarters for President Biden’s reelection campaign. The operation will now throw its resources behind Ms. Harris as she seeks the party’s nomination to defeat former President Donald Trump in November.

Mr. Biden has endorsed Ms. Harris to succeed him. She spent Sunday making up to 200 calls to lawmakers, donors and the Democratic officials to rally support for her campaign.
