Police in New York said Monday they found a person’s handless, toothless, burned body in a shopping cart underneath a Yonkers bridge.
Police in the Westchester County city said firefighters discovered the body at about 2 a.m. Monday after extinguishing a blaze underneath the Oak Street bridge.
Authorities determined the victim, who has yet to be identified, was killed in the Bronx before being burned and abandoned under the span.
Police didn’t say how they linked the victim’s death to the Bronx.
WNBC reported that police executed a search at a home in the New York City borough and recovered human remains in the kitchen. Police also found drugs and guns at the residence.
An NYPD official told the station that police have video of a man rolling a shopping cart onto a Metro-North rail that appears to match the shopping cart found in Yonkers.
