Nikki Haley vowed Tuesday to stay in the GOP presidential race even if she loses the primary in her home state of South Carolina this weekend, saying she still sees a path to victory against former President Donald Trump.
Mr. Trump is dominating the race, but Ms. Haley said she’ll continue to fight.
“South Carolina will vote on Saturday, but on Sunday I will still be running for president,” the former South Carolina governor said. “I am not going anywhere.”
She added, “Dropping out would be the easy route. I have never taken the easy route.”
Ms. Haley said she is “fighting for something bigger than myself” and running on behalf of voters who want a change and are dreading another showdown between Mr. Trump and President Biden.
She said both men are both flawed candidates.
“I will keep fighting until the American people close the door,” Ms. Haley said. “That day is not today.”
