A Second Amendment defense group has named Kyle Rittenhouse as its outreach director.
Texas Gun Rights announced Tuesday the hiring of Mr. Rittenhouse, who became a national cause after he killed two Black Lives Matter rioters in self-defense in Wisconsin.
“Joining Texas Gun Rights is an awesome opportunity to continue advocating for our constitutional freedoms,” Mr. Rittenhouse said in a statement reported by the Houston Chronicle. “I am excited to work with TXGR to mobilize Texans in support of their right to keep and bear arms. Together, we can ensure that our voices are heard and our rights are protected in Austin and D.C.”
Mr. Rittenhouse had stated in interviews that while he supported gun rights he wasn’t especially a political conservative until the 2020 shooting deaths for which liberal outlets instantly branded him a racist.
He was acquitted of all charges by a Wisconsin jury in 2021.
“Kyle’s unwavering dedication to the Second Amendment and his firsthand experience with the legal and cultural battles surrounding gun rights make him an invaluable addition to our team,” Chris McNutt, president of Texas Gun Rights, said in a statement announcing the Rittenhouse hire.
