Google Podcasts, the company’s standalone podcast hub, is shutting down for U.S. users after Tuesday. Podcasts will instead be available on YouTube Music, also owned by Google.

Google Podcasts will stop being available for international users after June 24, Google employee Corey Peter explained in a post last month.

Podcasts first became available on YouTube Music in April 2023, and on Sept. 26, the YouTube team announced that Google Podcasts was not long for the world. The switch, the company said, mirrored existing consumer trends.

In its September announcement, the YouTube team cited Edison Research and explained that 23% of weekly podcast listeners said YouTube was their most used service versus just 4% saying the same of Google Podcasts.

To help users adjust, YouTube allows users to add RSS feeds for podcasts to their libraries even if the podcasts involved are not on the service.

Google Podcasts users, meanwhile, are able to export their subscriptions directly to YouTube Music, or download their libraries as a file if they want to use a new service other than YouTube Music.

The export of user libraries will be available through July, according to CNET.com.
