WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — Former President Donald Trump won the state of Georgia early Wednesday, his second victory in the seven key battleground states and one that narrows Vice President Kamala Harris’ chances of beating him.
Mr. Trump beat Ms. Harris 50.9% to 48.4% in Georgia, with 94% of the vote counted. He planned to address supporters at a watch party in the Palm Beach Convention Center.
The GOP nominee also was leading in the five remaining battleground states, but those races were too close to call early Wednesday.
Ms. Harris had hoped to capture the Peach Tree state with the help of Black voters, but early exit data showed Black men gravitating toward Mr. Trump, cutting into her support, and showing up in far fewer numbers than they did for President Biden in 2020.
Mr. Trump’s win in Georgia flips the state from 2020, when it went narrowly for Mr. Biden. Mr. Trump won Georgia in 2016.
