A Georgia court has put brakes on the criminal case against President-elect <a href="/topics/donald-trump/">Donald Trump</a> over the 2020 election in that state.

On Monday, the Georgia Court of Appeals canceled a Dec. 5 hearing, a bid by Mr. <a href="/topics/donald-trump/">Trump’s</a> legal team to disqualify Fulton County District attorney Fani Willis from the case.

The hearing was canceled “until further order of this court,” <a href="https://www.newsweek.com/donald-trumps-court-hearing-about-fani-willis-canceled-1987889?utm_term=Autofeed&amp;utm_medium=Social&amp;utm_source=Twitter#Echobox=1731969660" rel="noopener" target="_blank">according to</a> a Newsweek report.

It was not immediately clear why the hearing was canceled.

The charges accused Mr. <a href="/topics/donald-trump/">Trump</a> of scheming to undo his loss to President Biden in the Peach State.
