The government will stop sending free COVID tests to American homes after Friday, the U.S. Postal Service said on its website.

The program, which started in January 2022, has had previous stops and starts.

People who have not placed an order since the most recent reactivation last September can get two sets of tests, eight tests in total, per the USPS.

Tests placed on or before Friday will be delivered, the Health and Human Services Department told Axios.

HHS said that it will continue to deliver tests to schools, health centers, food banks and long-term care facilities.
