Freevee, the Amazon-owned ad-supported video-on-demand streaming platform, is being fully folded into Amazon Prime Video in August.
The free service began sunsetting last year.
Amazon told Freevee’s remaining users in a notice that the app would remain live and usable until August, according to a screenshot of the notice taken by TechCrunch.
The notice said that Freevee’s original content, content library and live TV offerings are available on Prime Video for free without the need for a subscription.
The content on Freevee was moved onto Amazon Prime Video in late 2024, though the platform remained up and its shows, free ad-supported TV channels, and other content remained free on Prime Video.
“To deliver a simpler viewing experience for customers, we have decided to phase out Freevee branding … a vast offering of free streaming content will still be accessible for non-Prime members,” an Amazon spokesperson told Deadline at the time.
