A Las Vegas grand jury indicted four teenagers with murder Thursday in connection to the deadly beating of a 17-year-old boy last fall.

Prosecutors said Dontral Beaver, 16; Damien Hernandez, 18; Treavion Randolph, 16; and Gianni Robinson, 17, were all charged as adults with second-degree murder and battery charges.

A total of nine students have been arrested following the November attack on Jonathan Lewis Jr., but prosecutors said the remaining five suspects are currently in the juvenile court system.

The suspects could still be transferred to a higher court under Nevada law, which allows teens 13 and older to face adult murder charges. The suspects ranged in age from 13 to 17 at the time of the incident, authorities said.

Police said the deadly fight was set up on Nov. 1 away from school grounds after wireless headphones and a vape pen were stolen from Jonathan or his friends earlier in the week.

After Jonathan was struck by the first punch, the 10 teens quickly swarmed and began “kicking, punching and stomping on him,” Lt. Jason Johannson said at the time.

The lieutenant called the beatdown, which was captured on video, “void of humanity” and said the victim was defenseless during the attack.

Jonathan was unresponsive and unconscious after the melee.

Police said medical officials determined the teen suffered severe head trauma, which caused him to die days later on Nov. 7.
