NextImg:Ford blames hacked account for anti-Israel posts

Ford Motor said its X account was hacked Monday and was the reason for a flurry of anti-Israel posts.

The account blasted out three anti-Isreal posts in quick succession, calling Israel a “terrorist state” and posting “Free Palestine” and “ALL EYES ON GAZA.”

The posts were quickly taken down.

“Our X account was briefly compromised, and the previous three posts were not authorized or posted by Ford. They do not represent Ford Motor Company,” Ford said in a statement. “Ford and X are investigating the breach.”

The posts elicited a variety of reactions from the X community, with some expressing support for the posts’ statements and others accusing the company of supporting antisemitism.

The posts come as debate over the war in the Middle East continues on social media. Since Oct. 7, 2023, when Hamas terrorists killed 1,200 Israelis and took over 250 hostages, Israel has laid siege to the Gaza Strip.

In recent months, the war has spread throughout the region.
