United Airlines flight 6378 Friday from Pittsburgh to Houston, was diverted to Nashville International Airport following a passenger disturbance.
Flight 6378 landed safely in Nashville at around 1:50 p.m. local time Friday, the Federal Aviation Administration said in a statement.
The flight, which originally left Pittsburgh International Airport for George Bush Intercontinental Houston Airport, landed at Nashville after the flight crew reported a passenger disturbance, the FAA said. Federal aviation officials did not specify the nature of the disturbance.
A passenger on the flight, listed as a United flight but operated by Mesa Airlines, said that crew members hinted in an announcement after the flight resumed.
“The flight attendants actually did come on and say, hey, you know, just for the record or something … it’s not a good idea to threaten anybody on a flight,” Juan Marroquin told Houston’s KHOU-TV.
A Mesa Airlines spokesperson told KHOU-TV that two passengers were removed for being verbally abusive.
The flight left Nashville for Houston at around 3:30 p.m. local time and landed safely in Houston at around 5:11 p.m., according to FlightAware.
