FBI Director Christopher Wray told senators Tuesday that he has never seen the U.S. face as dire a set of threats as it does today.

“While there may have been times over the years where individual threats could have been higher here or there than where they might be right now, I’ve never seen a time where all the threats, or so many of the threats, are all elevated all at exactly the same time,” Mr. Wray told the Judiciary Committee.

He said an already heightened risk of terrorism hit “a whole other level” after Hamas’ murderous sneak attack on Israel two months ago, which spawned new calls for attacks on the U.S. by major terrorism groups.

But Mr. Wray said other dangers abound, including America’s southern border and Iran’s continued interest in confronting the U.S.

“I see blinking lights everywhere I turn,” Mr. Wray said.
