Police in Montgomery County on Monday said a Virginia inmate who broke out of prison nearly two months ago was responsible for stealing a car at gunpoint in Gaithersburg, Maryland.

Authorities said Naseem Roulack, 21, is wanted in connection with an armed carjacking and kidnapping that took place Sept. 1.

Police said a gun-wielding Roulack approached a woman in the 400 block of West Deer Park Road just after midnight and demanded the car. He also ordered the woman to get inside the vehicle.

Roulack drove a few blocks as the woman sat in the backseat, police said, before he let her out.

The escapee, a 5-foot-6 Black man who weighs 225 pounds, is said to have black hair and brown eyes. He also has noticeable tattoos on his right eye, left cheek and neck and is a native of Woodbridge, Virginia.

Roulack was serving a 13-year prison sentence on malicious wounding, grand larceny and hit-and-run when he broke out of a hospital in the Richmond suburbs on Aug. 12.

The U.S. Marshals Service Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force is offering a $5,000 reward to anyone who provides information on the inmate’s whereabouts.

Those with information are encouraged to contact the U.S. Marshals at 877-WANTED2.
