Former President Donald Trump’s eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., said that former Fox News host Tucker Carlson is “certainly a contender” for his father’s running mate.

He said a Trump-Carlson ticket was “on the table.”

“I mean they’re very friendly, I think they agree on virtually all of these things. They certainly agree on stopping the never-ending wars,” he said on Newsmax. “So, I would love to see that happen. That would certainly be a contender.”

Since being fired by Fox News, Mr. Carlson has been doing a show and posting it on X.

Mr. Trump and Mr. Carlson have always had a friendly relationship. When the former president ditched the first GOP debate in August, he opted instead for a sit-down interview on Mr. Carlson’s show.

Mr. Trump has said that he would consider Mr. Carlson for a running mate because “he’s got great common sense.”

However, Mr. Carlson hasn’t been keen on the idea. He recently said that he finds it “kind of hard to envision [and that] God would have to yell” at him very loud to get him to take the position.

The former president hinted earlier this week at a town hall that he has already chosen who his second-in-command will be.
