MANCHESTER, N.H. - Governor Ron DeSantis dropped out of the race on Sunday, after he did not make scheduled appearances on the morning talk shows and canceled campaign events amid low poll numbers.

“It’s clear to me a majority of primary voters want to give Donald Trump a second chance,” he announced on social media Sunday.

Mr. DeSantis was on track to place a distant third in New Hampshire’s primary on Tuesday and is polling at around 6%. He’s far behind both former President Trump, the prohibitive frontrunner who polls show has  50% of likely GOP voter support. Mr. DeSantis’s other opponent, former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, is polling at more than 35% in the Granite State. Mr. DeSantis placed second in the Iowa caucus last week.
